Organised by the London Drug Policy Forum, KCA and ADFAM, the conference will explore the ssues of poverty, debt and credit as they impact on people affected by substance misuse. We know hat individual users and their families experience real problems with what seem simple financial ransactions like opening bank accounts or sorting out loans – but communities disproportionately ffected by drugs and alcohol also face big challenges, with more looming. How might the recession hange people’s situation? What can we do now to help?

Building on the success of previous events held in Warwick, this one day conference will focus attention on Criminal Justice interventions rom arrest, arrest referral, assessment and pre-court work, health stabilisation, sentencing and the delivery of DRR through medium nd high intensity (community and residential treatment) as well as working with prisoners through sentences, pre and post-release.

The conference is aimed primarily at DIP service managers, practitioners, staff from arrest referral, court teams, probation officers – articularly those who supervise DRRs and running the programmes – prison staff, health workers and doctors who deliver rapid rescribing and triage interventions, police officers and magistrates.
